Overview of the 2nd China International Tropical Industry Fair 2021

2021 China International Tropical Industry Fair (hereinafter referred to as "Tropical Fair ") is the second exhibitions after the successfully holding of the first Tropical Fair in 2020, with the theme of "Healthy & Technological Consumption". The first Tropical Fair had gained the concerns and support of more than 95% of countries and enterprises at home and abroad. The Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce and the relevant government departments expect that the Tropical Fair is gong to have to become an internationally recognized exchange and trading platform and one of the four major exhibitions in China.Every year, the Tropical Fair will be held regularly in Guangdong-HongKong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the largest tropical city group in the world, and the second Tropical Fair will be held in Guangzhou Pazhou LINGAN Innovation Expo Center from November 8 to 10, 2021.

Ⅰ. The purpose and significance

1.1 Purposes

The Tropical Fair is a national strategy and an international platform. It is an international exchange and trading platform specially built for 144 tropical and subtropical countries and regions. There are 197 countries +36 regions in the world, among which 144 countries in tropical and subtropical regions account for 70% of GDP,resources, culture and population in this region. At present, China has established extensive cooperative relations with more than 100 tropical and subtropical countries. A strategic alliance for geo-economic cooperation has been formed, and the holding of the Tropical Fair will promote closer cooperation between more countries and China, as well as the establishment of a more friendly strategic partnership between China and other countries.

1.2 Significance

In 2004, the State Councilhad stated the tropical crops such as rubber as the strategic development of the nation. In 2011, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs entrusted Guangzhou Pan-Pearl River Delta City Development Institute, the founding unit,to demonstrate the feasibility of holding the Tropical Fair, which was endorsedby the experts. In 2014, the United Nations designated June 29th as the"International Tropical Day", with the theme: "The future belongs to the tropics"; In 2018, General Secretary Xi proposed to"build a national tropical agricultural science center"; In 2020, FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu sent a congratulatory letter to the opening ceremony of the first Tropical Fair, highly appraising that the Tropical Fair is ageographical international strategic platform, and emphasized in his congratulatory message that "when the tropics are good, the whole world is good";The leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the first Tropical Fair, praising "Tropical Fair is a great undertaking".

III.Basic information

3.1 Exhibition theme of 2021 Tropical Fair

The theme of this Tropical Fair is "Tropical Areas Science and Technology, Tropical Areas Industry,Tropical Areas Resources, Tropical Areas Economy and Tropical Areas Consumption".

3.2 Exhibition time

Exhibition arrangement time: November 6-7, 2021 (2 days).

Exhibition time: November8-10, 2021 (3 days).

3.3 Exhibition place

LINGAN Innovation Expo Center (No. 628, Xingang East Road, Pazhou, Haizhu District, Guangzhou, China).

Over 20,000 square meters.

IV.Contents of Exhibition

4.1 national/city brand exhibition area

In the National/City Pavilion,The Belt and Road Initiative friendly countries will be invited to participate in the exhibition in 2021, including 10 countries including Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Ethiopia. Due to the Covid-19 epidemic situation, the consulates of relevant countries in Guangzhou will be arranged to participate in the exhibition. Among them, an international friendship city signing ceremony and an international economic and trade fair will be held between thelocal people's government and Suva, Fiji.Invited Luzhou, Panzhihua, Yibin,Zunyi, Guizhou and other Chinese liquor golden triangle cities to participate in the exhibition. Show 10 countries in South Pacific and China Liquor GoldenTriangle countries and cities. In the same period, we will organize the dockingand negotiation of international economy, trade, science and technology and business between relevant cities and tropical countries.

4.2 Exhibition area of well-known enterprises

This exhibition area will mainly invite top 500 enterprises in the world and top 100 enterprises in China, including well-known enterprises at home and abroad,such as Chia Tai Group, Wens Foodstuff Group,Guangdong Agricultural Reclamation Group, Haitian Group, New Hope Group,Xinjiang Construction Corps, Heilongjiang Agricultural Reclamation Group,Xiamen Golden Oak Group and New South Group.

4.3 Tropical Science and Technology Exhibition Area

Exhibitors include the world's largest similar institutions-Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, Guangdong Agricultural Reclamation Research Institute, New South Group with artemisinin as the benchmark, and relevant provincial agricultural academies, universities and national academies in tropical regions, etc.,displaying tropical scientific and technological products, scientific and technological achievements and related intellectual property rights, and promoting exchanges and transactions among tropical countries.

4.4 Rural Revitalization Exhibition Area

2021 is the first year of rural revitalization. The 2021 Tropical Fair focuses on the basic achievements,experiences and successful cases of rural revitalization in Guangdong-HongKong-Macao Greater Bay Area, so as to learn from each other.

4.5 Health Consumption Exhibition Area

With the theme of featured food, great health products, high-tech enterprises and featured culture, the exhibition area displays new products, new formats and new economy around tropical industries and tropical life.

4.6 Popular Science Corridor in Tropical Areas

The United Nations designated June 29th every year as International Tropical Day,with the theme of "Future belongs to the tropics". The main contents include popular science corridor, tropical life and tropical culture.

V. International Tropical Smart Economy Development Forum

5.1 Theme and time

Forum theme: Tropical smart industry and technological innovation.

Time: As a supporting project of the Tropical Fair, it will be held simultaneously.

5.2 Forum content

Main topics: smart industry, tropical science and technology, tropical culture, development and utilization of tropical resources, financial economy, science and technology innovation agriculture, holographic city, new economy and new format, greencity, consumption and black technology economy, four-dimensional industry,digital industry, high-end service industry, enterprises and entrepreneurs, new product development, etc.

Forum organization form sinclude: forum exchange, sub-forum exchange, scientific and technological achievements display, etc. Participants include academicians, CEOs of Fortune 500 companies and top entrepreneurs in the industry, with a scale of 300 people.

The forum will be held in the same place as the Tropical Fair on November 8 -9, 2021, which is asupporting project of the Tropical Fair. Relevant departments of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Guangdong Agricultural Reclamation Research Institute, Chia Tai Group, New South Group and other unitsare participating in the sponsorship and co-sponsorship.

Ⅵ. Annual Conference of Chinese Societyfor Tropical Crops

6.1 Theme and time

Theme of the Annual Conference: High-quality development of seed industry in China.

Time: As a supporting project of the Tropical Fair, it will be held simultaneously.

6.2 Contents of the Annual Conference

To promote academic exchanges of tropical crops, promote scientific and technological innovation of tropical agriculture, and help the high-quality development of tropical seed industry. Academic exchanges will be conducted in the form of invited reports,academician seminars, special forums, wall newspapers, papers and exhibitions.This conference focuses on the high-quality development of tropical seed industry.Senior experts in major tropical crops in China will be invited to give comprehensive and systematic authoritative reports on the high-quality development of seed industry in this field, and several academicians in the field of germplasm resources will be invited to comment and discuss the special reports on the high-quality development of seed industry in tropical crops one by one.The annual meeting will also hold several sub-venues, such as pestcontrol and green agriculture, storage, processing and quality safety of agricultural products, mining and innovative utilization of medicinal plant resources with national characteristics, seminar on international cooperative management ability of tropical agriculture under the new epidemic situation,annual meeting of spices in beverage crops, tropical biotechnology such as animal and plant biology and biomedicine.

The Annual Conference of Chinese Society for Tropical Crops is a supporting project of the Tropical Fair, which will be held simultaneously with China International Tropical Industry Fair from 2020. It is the highest-level academic conference of tropical crops in China, with large scale, high specifications and great influence. The annual meeting will be held from November 8 to November 11, 2021.Scientific research institutes, experts,entrepreneurs, and responsible persons of the association of tropical regions around the world are invited to participate, with a scale of 600 people.
